My Ideal Family

This entry is my assignment for Rel. Ed 7 class. It is a marriage class actually. I had a hard time to work on this and I must say that I am proud of myself. Why? Well, the words you are about to read is ‘not-so-me’ much. May mga bagay o salita pa rin na makakapagsabi na, ako ang nagsulat nito o ako ang gumawa nito. Happy reading!

Honestly speaking, I do not have any plans of having a family. However, like any other girls, I also have list of plans about my dream wedding – from themes to the exteriors of my wedding... the ceremony, the guests, the reception, the colors, the gowns of my bridesmaids, my gown, his gown... Nevertheless, that’s all! I do not have any plans or even a visualization of myself having a family.

Until last week, we were able have a chance to meet a couple. They are very lovely and I saw my parents to them (read and see previous post). My ideal family is kind of family I have now. I want to have a husband-material man (I want a MAN. Not just a boy... and definitely not a guy). He does not need to be a knight-in-shining-armour type of a person. He does not need to be very rich and famous... I want him to be as simple as my father. I want someone who is a man of God. Someone I can really trust and understand my shortcomings. I want him to be a father to our two (2) kids. I want him to be working here in the Philippines. I want someone who will accept me despite of my imperfections. He needs to patient, loving and practical. He must be very good and very honest when it comes to money. Kasi, I don’t want money to be an issue between my husband and I.

He must be a responsible husband and a father. Has good values, and very dedicated to his job or passions in life, as long as he knows how to balance his time between his wife (me), his children, to his work, to his personal goals in life and of course, to God. I want him to be simple and smart. He does not need to be a nerd or intelligent. Being good at some things that are rare and difficult, has an at least average or above average mental/intellectual capacity is also a plus! It’ll be okay for me if he drinks. As long as it does it occasionally, with or without my presence and he is not allowed to go home DRUNK (ayoko naman makita sya ng mga anak naming na shenglot na, mabaho pa). If he loves me and my children, he shall stop smoking if he wants us to live longer. I want him to be dedicated, passionate, religious, faithful, and independent (quite), appreciative, and loyal. He must also be supportive with my plans and life goals even before he came into my life.

I want our relationship to be strong and mature enough to face all the challenges we’ll encounter with our children. I want our relationship to be simple and a product of an answered prayer.

When it comes to our children...

I want them to be raised like the way I was raised. My husband needs to have a good family background so that he too will be able to raise his children too. I want our children to grow simple and very used to simple life, and close to God. I want them to have fear to God to guide them and lead them away from evil. I will let them play outside with other children and let them run under the rain instead of giving them gadgets to play with. I will let them make decisions of their own (but still, parental guidance will be observed). I will teach them how to value time and balance it very well. I want them to be dependent and independent.

I will let my or our children to explore and see the world. I will let them commit mistakes and learn from it. hinding hindi ko sasayangin yung pagkakataon o karapatan nilang maglaro at maging maalay. Saglit lang. I will teach them how to be responsible at home and at school.

I will introduce him good books, documentaries, foods, movies, music and encourage them to be involve with different meaningful organizations and join different extracurricular activities. I want my husband and I to be very hands-on in taking care of them kasi ayokong maramdaman nilang isolated sila sa sarili nilang bahay, sariling pera. lastly, I want us (my husband and I) to be the best-est best friend they will ever have in their life.
